Over the past few months we have had some awesome customers come to us and say, “What should we do with our jars???” after they’ve burned through our candles. Well, first off, we take it as a great compliment that you burned through a whole candle. That must mean you like it, right? But secondly, we certainly appreciate the gesture everyone has had about reusing or recycling the jars.
When we started looking for containers for our candles, we wanted to pick something that could be reused. All of us on the team have a tendency to hang on to the containers of our candles and use them for a variety of uses. (Personally, I’ve been known to clean out large, wide jars and use them for chips and salsa). So, the Old Groundhog Co. candles were no exception to the “what can I do with it after” question.
In all honesty, this group of candlemakers loves a good cocktail (or mocktail, in one person’s case), so we picked vessels that could be perfect for a good drink. These jars are technically made for Old Fashioneds. So, we do strongly encourage you to buy a set of candles, burn the hell out of them, clean them and then have yourself a good set of whiskey glasses.
But we know that’s not everyone’s style. Here are some other things we’ve done with them:

Coffee
Clean those jars out and make any drink. We’ve done iced coffee a few times.
Change or Junk jar
Okay, so maybe you don’t carry around a ton of change anymore, but you can get some lighters in there, at least.

plants
Plants belong anywhere and everywhere. Use your jars as a little starter home for some new fellas, or stick some small stems in them!
